ELMC Grant to Egerton County Primary School

As technology continues to advance with more and more sophisticated equipment available, especially to the younger generation, then it is perhaps inevitable that the latest electronic techniques should be available to the teaching staff in our schools. The staff at Egerton County Primary School, led by Head Teacher Sam Mitchell, therefore set about equipping each of their six classrooms with the latest interactive screens, in order to introduce their young pupils to technology from an early age. The ideal equipment was found to be Prowise Interactive Screens but they come with a price tag of almost £2,500.

Extremely hard work by the Parent Teacher Association, and by the school itself, in many fundraising activities, resulted in the purchase of the first five screens but the final screen appeared to be quite a way off. Through the Bolton District Charity Steward, WBro Kirk Mulhearne, application was made to the ELMC Grant Making Committee for a grant for the purchase of the sixth screen, which was approved.

Kirk, along with his Assistant, WBro Bob Finley, was delighted to attend the school to present the cheque.
