The ELMC The East Lancashire Masonic Charity is here to care for and to afford charitable assistance to needy Freemasons or their widows or to any of their dependent relatives, and to reach out to others in the communities in which we live who are deserving of our charitable support. The ELMC was incorporated on the 13th January 1904. The Provincial Grand Master of the Masonic Province of East Lancashire is a non-Executive Director and the President. The Deputy Provincial Grand Master is also a non Executive Director and the Deputy President. The business and affairs of the Charity are directed by the Board of Directors/Trustees in accordance with the Articles of Association, and managed on a day to day basis by the full-time Manager (Operations Director), Julie Ward, and a part-time Administrative Officer, Karen Hall. Voting Members, known as Representative Members, are appointed by each Lodge and Chapter of the Masonic Province of East Lancashire. Any person may become an “Individual Member” of the ELMC at the discretion of the Board providing they make a contribution of at least £60 per annum. These Members are entitled to attend the Annual General Meeting and to receive a copy of the Annual Report but at the AGM are not entitled to cast a vote. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS/TRUSTEES The Board of the ELMC comprises: The President who shall act in a non-Executive capacity The President, the Deputy President, The Provincial Grand Almoner and the Provincial Grand Charity Steward are all ex-officio Members of the Board, other Members are elected at each Annual General Meeting. The Board appoints Sub-Committees, which are approved at the Annual General Meeting each year, to consider and make recommendations to it for the management of the Charity.
