Bolton Masonic Gift Evening

£14,614.00 Donated to 24 Charities including £2,650 from the ELMC Community Fund

Bolton Freemasons held their first Gift Evening on 22nd May 2007, in the large lodge room in the Masonic Hall, in Institute Street, Bolton. The meeting was attended by the Mayor of Bolton, Councillor Barbara Ronson, and her Consort Councillor Bob Ronson, the Assistant Provincial Grand Master for Bolton and Bury, Philip Mountford, plus 146 guests and charity representatives.

Of the total of £14,614 donated to 24 different charities that evening, £2,650 came from the ELMC Community Fund, including £500 to the Birtenshaw Hall School, which helps children with special needs, £500 to the Parkinson’s Society, which provides support to sufferers, and £1,650 to the H.C.P.T. Pilgrimage Trust, which sends disabled children on holiday to Lourdes.

In describing the work done by the East Lancashire Masonic Charity, Philip Mountford mentioned the substantial grants being made to non-Masonic charities throughout the Province of East Lancashire.
