Comforts Fund Outings in 2006
Spring Party usually takes place early in April (the date is set in 2007 for the 3rd April) and is usually attended by 60/70 beneficiaries and supported by the President of ELMC and a number of the Assistant PGM's and their partners. We meet at Bridge Street at 5.00pm for tea and biscuits followed by a formal 3 course dinner, each beneficiary receives a small gift and the format follows a traditional style Ladies evening. Entertainment is provided, this is varied and we have booked the Lancashire Fusiliers Association (Band and Corps of Drums) for 2007.
Summer Holiday 2006
We take about 60 beneficiaries away for a weeks holiday the first week in June. For the three years up to 2006 we took them to the Fern Lea Hotel in Lytham St.Annes, but changed this year to the Ambassador Hotel in Llandudno. The change of venue proved to be a big success, so much so that we have re-booked for the 2nd - 9th June 2007. During the course of the week we have a coach trip out for a day, this year we had lunch and the afternoon at Portmeirion. The above pictures were taken on the day out on 7th June 2006 at Castell Deudraeth, Portmeirion.
Autumn Day Out - Mid September we took 58 Beneficiaries for the day out in York, meeting for tea and coffee at Hemsley House, travelling to York where we had a sit down lunch at a hotel in the shadow's of York Minster, followed by a leisurely boat trip on the river, returning to Salford early evening.
