Comforts Fund Spring Party 14th April 2010
Once again the Comforts Fund Committee held their customary Spring Party which, as usual, took place in The Goulburn Suite at Freemasons’ Hall, Bridge Street, Manchester on Wednesday, 14th April 2010.
The event was supported by the President of the East Lancashire Masonic Charity, RWBro Jack Price, together with the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, Harold Woodward, the Deputy Grand Superintendent, Allan Bennion and the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, Martin Roche.

in the late afternoon the President of the ELMC, RWBro Jack Price (Provincial Grand Master), the Comforts Fund Committee Chairman, WBro Charles Ward, together with other Committee members and their partners, greeted some 90 beneficiaries, guests, and officers, for an afternoon tea and biscuits reception. The conversation went well and frienships were renewed and made between the beneficiaries present.
The reception was followed in the early evening by a most enjoyable formal three course dinner in the Goulbourn Suite. During this time relaxing background piano music was played by 'Louise'.
After the dinner we were superbly entertained by Martin Lambert from Leigh, comedian and beautiful singer. We listened to a medley of songs including Sweet Caroline, Crying and many others that the audience sang a long too. Much laughter was also general during the evening. There clearly 'wasn't an old person in the house', commented Martin.
During the evening the Committee members and officers were able to circulate and chat amongst the Beneficiaries. Each guest was presented with a lovely gift.
A colourful flower display on each table was provided by Julie Wards’ mother Norma. Towards the end of the evening these wonderful arrangements were given away as table prizes.
Jack Price spoke after dinner, "We regard all of you as very special - the bedrock of what we as Masons seek to do. Our reward for evenings such as this is your happiness and satisfaction. Love one another, look after one another and we will all meet again next year".
The Beneficiaries are used to enjoying a pleasant and entertaining evening at their Spring Party and again, they were not disappointed.

This was WBro Ward's first Sping Party which he has organised as the new Committee Chairman, and an excellent job he did as well. We are sure all who attended this year will want to be with us again next year.
