The Bridge Street Ladies at The Great Manchester Run - 2008

On Sunday 18 May 2008 the Bridge Street Ladies, and family, took place in the Great Manchester Run.

We were delighted to present a cheque for £5,000 to ‘Action Duchenne’.

A very big thank you to all the Brethren for their kind support.

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) affects 1 in every 3,500 boys born. Edward is one of those boys. He appears to be perfectly healthy but the disease has yet to show its devastation.

The stark facts about DMD are hard to believe:

  • DMD boys are wheelchair bound between 10 to 12 years old.
  • DMD is associated with respiratory failure, heart failure and debilitating orthopaedic complications.
  • DMD boys die in their late teens or early twenties.
  • DMD has a 100% fatality rate.

THERE IS NO CURE !!

We need your help to raise money for funding critical research aimed at identifying a cure and effective treatment for this life shattering condition.
