Young People's Committee Outing Saturday 3 February 2007
When the Young People's Committee received a circular of theatre shows for the forthcoming year they decided that
'Starlight Express' , the classic Andrew Lloyd Webber musical featuring a cast on roller skates, was one not to be missed.
The Committee booked 30 tickets for the matinee performance on Saturday 3 February 2007 and all the seats were filled by children from the Province accompanied by a number of parents/guardians and Committee members.
The children arrived at The Freemason's Hall, Bridge Street, Manchester at 1.45pm. At 2pm the group walked to the Opera House for the matinee performance.
The show was excellent with superb roller-skating stunts, great music and races on 3D screens; the children loved the idea of the 3D glasses. During the interval the children were treated to ice cream.
After the show the children returned to Freemasons' Hall for an evening meal and departed around 7pm for home.
Yet another successful event!
