YoungMinds’ supported by the Masonic Charitable Foundation 29th November 2016
Young Minds is the UK’s leading charity committed to improving the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people. With the support of the Masonic Charitable Foundation a new Peer Advice Project for parents is being developed in the North of England.
Their Northern Region Manager, Jane Case, who has been in post for 6 months has recruited a trainer to deliver the Peer Advice Project, Evette (Eve) Allen. Jane has an extensive background in commissioning, most recently at the Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council, and Evette has worked for YoungMinds as a sessional worker delivering mental health training in Knowsley, Doncaster and St Helens. With a background in school nursing Evette very much understands the YoungMinds mission and work.
Jane and Evette have been liaising with children’s centres about the County and are building up contacts and groups of parents who require support.

Representatives from both East and West Lancashire, attended one of the hubs, Netherton Children’s Centre to present a certificate and cheque for £49,634. Julie Ward (operations Director of the ELMC) and Chad Northcott (Assistant Provincial Grand Master and Chairman of the ELMC) were proud to be present to make this presentation on behalf of the Masonic Charitable Foundation. Their two hour attendance allowed them to speak staff at the centre together with Jane Case and Evette Allen, and meet many of the true beneficiaries, the young parents receiving support to help them with their children in need.
