The morning of March 4th was cold and bleak but down at Salford Quays the women of the Agecroft Rowing Club were preparing for the new season. Salford District Charity Steward WBro Stan Jackson and the Salford District Chairman WBro Peter Hegarty were also down on the Quays to present a cheque for £2500 from the ELMC to the Club to help in the funding of a new boat. Whilst there Peter and Stan were given a tour of the fantastic facilities and educated in all things rowing. It should be said that both politely declined a go in the boats preferring a cup of tea and slice of cake in the club house. Sensible chaps. Watch out for the ladies, some of them are of Olympic standard and may be seen in the 2020 games in Tokyo.
