In October 2022 the ELMC Grant Making Committee awarded a great of £2,500 to the East Lancashire Community Boat Project. This was match funded by the Masonic Charity Foundation for another £2,500. The boat has been converted to be electrically powered to reduce it’s impact on the environment, formally being diesel driven.
The grant was to purchase and install a bank of batteries in the boat to be maintained by solar panels fitted to the roof.
The photos show the new equipment now installed so preparing the boat to provide a very worthwhile community asset during the coming months
